Amazon is a direct pipeline from China. Same things from aliexpress, but with the next day delivery and return policies. The products...well...in this case what options do you have? A "top" quality snap-on is around 700$, that teslong is what? 100$? Me personally I'll take the teslong in this case. I did actually, I bought the swiveling head model at around 300$ compared to 1400$ vividia model. No regrets. 95% of the quality at 20% of the price?! I'll take that! Big brands should get their sh$t together with their prices. But they probably won't and they'll go down. It's the cycle of nature. Small-big-dead.

The last 3 or 4 years there's been a big drop in quality. I return 25% of what I buy because it doesn't work right out of the box.

I bought an Autel Maxicom MK808BT on Amazon. I was worried when I ordered it might be fake, but it seems to be the real thing. Works fine. (It's now $100 less than when I bought it).

I only purchase big brand at Amazon. I will go to local stores first.

Hi Thomas. Did you request a replacement? Sometimes lemons do exist but I have returned many items to Amazon either for refund or exchange and in addition to great delivery on the initial purchase, found that Amazon's after service is as close to worry free as could be. I agree that inferior quality is not acceptable. Hope you get a remedy to this situation.

There are very few things I buy from Amazon. Stopped my prime membership years ago. There's lots of startup companies were people are making stuff in their homes, and shipping them out. There's also companies who use 3D printers to make molds from similar items, and the quality is horrible. As far as tools, or name brand tools, I found out those companies usually don't honor their warranty since it's bought through Amazon, which in a lot of cases, are not an authorized dealer. The prices of Amazon have gotten more expensive as well. Car parts... Absolutely no way I'll order stuff from Amazon. As far as convenience goes, I find it more convenient to drive 15 minutes down the road and get what I need ASAP rather than waiting a couple of days. That's just based off where I live though which is a huge metropolitan area.

Maybe some lube of some kind will stop that noise.

I got coolant smoke coming out the vent above the radiators outside, could this be the cause?

Hi there, I'm looking for a video to show how to replace crankshaft seal (timing belt side) on a 1.9 TDI (BXE) engine. Apparently it needs a bespoke tool to hold the crank sprocket VW tool 3099? Have you ever done similar video? Or how to use that tool? Thanks.

Good Idea! After draining you can cut a thread into the hole and put a screw with a washer into it.

Hey Thomas have you ever ran into an axle that will just not want to come out of the hub ? Every video I’ve seen of yours makes it look easy but I’ve been beating on this for a while and it will just not come out. Doesn’t look too rust and there’s no m10 holding the axle in place. Also the drivers side I was able to get out no problem but this is the passengers side I’m having the issue with. Any help would be appreciated thanks

Love it! When I was a teen I had a transparent plastic engine with a motor that you turn on and it would show the four cycle engine reciprocation. The ICE is an absolute marvel of science and engineering!

Hi I have a problem and need your help. I tried changing my t4 distributor but mistakenly broke the both crews 😮. I managed to get the old distributor out. While trying to get the broken screws out I damaged screw hole making it impossible to attach the new distributor to the engine. Am writing from Germany and my be t4 is Fuel engine 2.5 engine. 5 plugs. Do you have any advice for me? Thank you

Hi Thomas thanks for all your content i greatly enjoy all of it. 1 question my dads VW died the other day when i tried to restart it would crank at all battery is good alternator not sure guessing the starter. When i turn the key i get a loud whiring sound so thinking the starter's mini flywheel isn't engaging the tranys fly wheel its an auto trans. Lastly I isolatated a knock sound its tapping the oil pan and changes upon acceleration my question is how difficult is it to change the lower rod bearings. i know you remove spark plugs and olny move the crank clock wise then turn the crank until the rod comes down disconnect the the bottom then wet sand with 1000 - 2000 grit replace the bearing with lots of oil lube, hand tighten new bolt then torque to spec the go to the next rod turning the crank till it drops down ect. Doesn't seem to difficult just time consuming am i on the right track? The car is a 2003 VW passat 1.8l turbo GL sedan with an AWM enginge. Im really sorry to ramble but ive looked over RUclips cant find anything but i trust you mostly let me know if im on the right track. Thank you very muck for any help and guidance 🙏✌️ P.S i have all tools needed for the job.

I believe the earth is flat. I'm not saying I'm right, I'm just saying that it's my belief based on things I can see, feel, and measure.. I understand what you are saying in this, however, I can't understand how, on a perfectly still lake, of massive size, like many many KMs, you can run a laser level on it and it's perfectly flat. The other thing I really don't get is plane flights. You should be able to hover and wait for the spin to take you somewhere else, but no, the atmosphere spins with the earth? Well then reality should be that you can never reach a destination by flight. Either you are going against the atmospheric rotation, which would be equal to trying to fly through a brick wall in a coke can, or you are having to fly with it, which means, unless you are flying faster than the rotation, which would be over 1000 miles per hour to gain any distance at all, you wouldn't be moving anywhere... Right? I'm very happy to be shown why I'm wrong if anyone has the patience. 🕊️

Can turning the belt (top pulley) by hand damaged anything inside the engine? A friend was turning with some force to see if the belt was chewed up . Which it was. But I’m hoping nothing is bent or damaged. I have a 95 mk3 cabrio

I have a 2006 beetle 2.5 hatchback with a non operating radiator fan. The engine has never overheated even when driving longer distances. Weird. My temp light on the dash works so Im puzzled. I believe this is the reason my AC is not working but I will check these connections before ordering the very expensive single fan with the control module. Can I check the control module itself? I had FCP euro check the proper fan control module with my VIN but sadly was not the one as mine is the module attached to the single fan.

Fighting with trying to remove the DRL on my wife's 2011 VW Mk6 Jetta. Can't get the darn thing out so will most likely have to pull the bumper off and remove the headlight to get at it. While resting I removed the coolant level connector on the expansion bottle because Thomas said to do this stuff and it was right in front of my face. Guess what? Connector housing was full of coolant. Then I remembered that I had to replace this bottle 2.5 years ago. Ran down to O'Reilly's and bought whatever they had on hand. No telling how long this coolant migration has been going on. I just ordered a OEM replacement from ECS. Thanks Thomas for all your great advice.
